Another dinner at Ling’s Pavilion, Colaba Not quite what you would expect at a Chinese restaurant; nonetheless, the plump Fried Bombay Duck were nice and fresh and the sweet garlic dipping sauce went beautifully with it. Would have been nicer if it had had a light breadcrumb coating Roast Pork: Lovely, tender slices of roast pork tossed in a bold sweet and mildly spicy sauce. Delicious! The crunch of the crisp bean sprouts were a prefect contrast to the firm, perfectly cooked prawns. Slivers of celery added a nice sweet edge to the Prawns with Bean Sprouts. Bursting with the sharpness of pepper but leaning towards sweeter flavours, the Beef with Pepper Sauce is comforting in its predictability This time the Ling’s Supreme Rice – steamed rice topped with sautéed bacon, prawns and mushrooms seemed a bit more flavourful but considerably drier.
